I really hope they did that just as "proof of concept". Because frankly its useless.

A very subjective point of view and if I dare say, immature. Personally, it's not to my liking however I'm sure there are some collectors somewhere who would appreciate that and I respect that.

This reminds me of news video of a dude from Russia (or some former Soviet Bloc country) who made fully functional miniaturized guns as a hobby. He had an impressive collection. Couldn't find the clip on youtube, but I found this:
